Chelsea suffered a loss of points in the Premier League for the second time in a row on Saturday.

After last week's defeat against Liverpool (0-2), this time it became 3-3 against West Bromwich Albion, although the Londoners did come back from a 3-0 deficit.

Manchester United escaped, with Donny van de Beek as a substitute, after a bizarre final phase against Brighton & Halve Albion (3-2).

Chelsea has only four points from three games due to the draw against the PhD candidate, despite substantial investments this summer.

New acquisitions Kai Havertz (80 million euros) and Timo Werner (53 million euros) had a base place against West Bromwich, while Hakim Ziyech was still injured.

The former Ajax player saw Chelsea have a disastrous start at The Hawthorns.

Within half an hour, the team of trainer Slaven Bilic led 3-0 by two goals from Irish Callum Robertson and a goal from Kyle Bartley.

After 55 minutes Mason Mount brought the tension back (3-1) with a nice long shot and in the seventieth minute Callum Hudson-Odoi pushed in the 2-3.

It seemed to stop there, but in the last minute it became 3-3 via Tammy Abraham.

Chelsea was lucky.

Havertz made offensive hands with the equalizing goal, but referee Jon Moss missed that and the VAR let it go.

Frustration at Chelsea, which quickly faced a 3-0 deficit.

Lousy first half United

Earlier in the day, Manchester United had an even more spectacular final phase against Brighton & Hove Albion (3-2).

An uninspired United played a lousy first half.

The team of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fell behind due to a striking penalty from Neal Maupay, but brought the score to 1-1 just before half time thanks to an own goal by Lewis Dunk.

United took the lead for the first time in the second half.

Marcus Rashford took care of the 1-2 by turning his direct opponent crazy and shooting the ball through the keeper's hands, after which a truly insane final piece awaited.

Brighton, which hit the post or crossbar four times, made it 2-2 in the 95th minute via a header from Solly March.

But United was able to breathe a sigh of relief later, because Bruno Fernandes remained extremely cool in the hundredth minute after a stupid handball from the penalty spot.

Joy at Manchester United.

Van de Beek replaces injury time

Van de Beek only came on in injury time at a 1-2 score at United and Joël Veltman remained on the bench at Brighton.

Both came over from Ajax this summer and are still waiting for their basic debut in the Premier League, but already appeared at the kick-off in the League Cup.

United narrowly recovered with the first league win of the season from last week's downer against Crystal Palace (1-3 defeat).

Van de Beek was then responsible for United's goal, but that did not result in a starting place against Brighton.

Everton took the lead in the Premier League on Saturday.

The team of manager Carlo Ancelotti also won the third game 1-2 against Crystal Palace through goals from Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison (penalty kick).

Cheikhou Kouyate scored in between.

There is another Premier League game scheduled for Saturday and that is Burnley-Southampton at 9 p.m.
