When the Irishman made a comeback in January and defeated veteran Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone in just 40 seconds, he also promised that 2020 would be a "comeback season" where he went three or four matches.

Then came the corona pandemic, and McGregor has not been in the octagon since.

But it's not because he did not want to.

"Sad that it ended like this"

On Twitter, the 32-year-old has now posted private conversations with UFC President Dana White where he asks to go to matches in May, August and at the end of 2020.

- Just three weeks after my last match, which drew record numbers, I campaigned for another match, which the UFC knows will be a box office success.

How sad that my season ended like this, McGregor writes in the post, along with the screenshots.

He continues:

- I really pushed for my season.

Offered me to meet several different opponents, on several different dates.

One by one.

- But now a lot of water has flowed under the bridges.

Who the hell cares.

I'll be boxing against Manny Pacquiao in the Middle East next.
