The 35-year-old had intended to invest wholeheartedly in triathlon this season.

But just over a week ago, Lisa Nordén was asked by national team captain Lucas Persson to run the pace race at the World Championships in Aigle-Martigny, Switzerland, which takes place on Thursday afternoon.

And now it will be double up for Nordén.

Due to illness in the Swedish squad, she has been asked to also take on the line race which takes place on Saturday.

Exciting challenge

Lisa Nordén has competed in two triathlon competitions, in Poland and Germany, and won both.

So there is nothing wrong with the shape.

- I have not trained any cycling but the focus has been on triathlon so it will be a tough but exciting challenge here at the WC.

SVT Sport has tried to reach the national team captain Lucas Persson without success.

The World Cycling Championships take place Thursday-Sunday and are broadcast on SVT.
