Guy Forget must not have spent the most peaceful night of his life.

After the announcements of the Minister of Health Olivier Véran, Wednesday, about the restrictive measures imposed in Paris to stem the spread of the coronavirus, the director of Roland-Garros said he was quite worried.

Indeed, the maximum level for major events will be lowered to 1,000 people, against 5,000 so far and will come into force on Saturday.

"We are impatiently awaiting the return of the authorities to know which gauge we will be adapted to," Forget said on BFM on Thursday.

We have already been degraded twice: first to 20,000 places, then to 11,500 when we had cut our 12 hectare site into three parts.

Today we are at 5,000 people, which is very little in a 12 hectare stadium, which represents 15 football fields.

In terms of sanitary conditions, we meet all the criteria, we have always spoken with the authorities.

Today we are a little worried.

"

Forget keeps hope

The director of the grand slam does not, however, hide his hopes of obtaining a waiver from the authorities in the coming days.

"We wait, we want it," he admitted.

Today, it is more risky to go to a supermarket, to an amphitheater and to take the metro in the morning.

When you are outdoors on such a large site, with barrier gestures, masks, hydroalcoholic gel, accommodating 5,000 people in such a large space is totally 'secure'.

We want us to be able to welcome fans for the great French sporting event which has an international reach without any measure.

"

A wish recently shared by Benoît Paire in L'Equipe, who can no longer stand watching tennis behind closed doors: “We don't like tennis.

When you see the US Open final, it 's the saddest final in my life that I' ve watched.

I have nothing against the two players, who are tops.

But there is no atmosphere, there is nothing, you find yourself in the tie-break of the fifth set and there is not a noise.

For me, it's not tennis.

Amen ferot.
