5,000 spectators a day would be admitted to the French Open in tennis, but due to the rising incidence of infections in covid-19, the French government is now pulling the brakes a bit. Only 1,000 spectators a day, Prime Minister Jean Castex said.
Players, coaches and staff are all included in that figure.
- We will use the same rules for Roland Garros as for other events, says Castex.
On Wednesday, word came from the Minister of Health Oliver Véran that sports events from Monday have an audience ceiling of 1,000 spectators.
