While the qualifications began on the side of Roland-Garros, the health situation and the regulations in force in the tournament linked to Covid-19 are on everyone's mind.

To the point of creating a sort of mini-psychosis?

"It's true that it's scary, we have the impression of being dependent, of playing a coin toss," said Frenchman Enzo Couacaud, recalling the example of Bosnian Damir Dzumhur, excluded from qualifying due to of the positive test suffered by his trainer Petar Popovic.

"Petar was tested positive here and was tested negative the next day at home," reported the Frenchman, visibly lost (like everyone else).

"I have the impression that nobody really knows how accurate the tests are and how accurate the truth is from the tests: we hear false positives, real positives, false negatives ... I've even heard tests which were a little too "borderline" to be considered negative so they had to be redone… What does that mean?

“Asked the Aixois, 194th in the world, after his success in the second round over the Argentinian Juan Pablo Ficovich (6-3, 6-3).

The players are totally lost

Passing from one country to another since the resumption of the ATP circuit in mid-August, players have discovered various protocols and legislation to fight the pandemic, which is fueling their confusion.

“I was tested in a French hospital where [the PCR test] was super deep in both nostrils, I saw in the United States that we gave the rod to the player who makes the tip of the nose and who makes [ the cotton swab], in some places we only make one nostril, in other places we make saliva, in others the blood… ”, says the player.

"Go find out which one is true, which is not true, which one is reliable… So when you come in and you are given a new test every time, you say to yourself: 'is this my day, is it my turn? "

It's terrible, yes, ”the Frenchman concluded.

We can't wait to be there (No)!
