Ralf Edström had Agne Simonsson as coach when he played in Ögryte between 1983 and 1985. Due to injury, there were no matches.

- Unfortunately I played no matches but had him as coach.

He was a good coach and did a great job.

He was a thinker and a little difficult to get into life.

But very kind and nice, says Ralf Edström to SVT Sport.

Edström liked the way Simonsson played football.

- It was not a player who kicked the ball and ran but he caressed the ball and played football in the right way in my opinion.

Together with Rune Börjesson, he was a fantastic radar pair in Örgryte.

What has he meant for Swedish football?

- Very much.

He was a great football player, one of the greatest we had.

Perhaps among the ten largest in Sweden in my opinion.

Agne Simonsson scored in the World Cup final against Brazil in 1958 when Sweden took silver.

He was awarded the Gold Ball in 1959 and is the first and so far only male player in Sweden to play for the Spanish big club Real Madrid.
