To afford his first Top 10 scalp in his career, this is enough to give hope to Ugo Humbert a few days before the start of Roland-Garros.
The Frenchman, 41st in the world, achieved a small feat by eliminating the Russian Daniil Medvedev, fifth in the world and seeded number 1, on Tuesday in the first round of the tournament in Hamburg (6-4, 6-3).
It is therefore the first success on a Top 10 player for the young Frenchman, aged 22.
