The European Championship qualifier against Hungary on Thursday was preceded by the Swedish team kneeling in support of "Black Lives Matter".

It will not be repeated against Iceland.

Instead, a silent minute is held in memory of the former chairman and longtime leader Lars-Åke Lagrelll who passed away on Monday, 80 years old.

"The national team remains united in the message against racism and all forms of discrimination - but after yesterday's announcement of Lars-Åke Lagrell's death, the decision has been made to refrain from kneeling at this match, in order to honor the former national team president before kicking off," writes The Swedish Football Association in a press release.
