Ayumi Tanimoto, who won the Olympic Games for the second time in a row as a judo girl, has been appointed as the new director of the Japan Skating Federation.

The Japan Skating Federation held a board of councilors in Tokyo on the afternoon of the 22nd to decide 25 new directors this year and next year, and Mr. Tanimoto became a director on the 22nd.



39-year-old Tanimoto won the 2004 Athens Olympics and the Beijing Olympics for the second time in a row in the 63 kg class of judo girls.



He retired from active duty in 2010 and is currently a director of the Tokyo Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.



According to the Japan Skating Federation, Mr. Tanimoto has been appointed as a director with the aim of actively appointing women and deepening exchanges with other sports.
