IFK Gothenburg, led by Roland Nilsson, got ready for an important match in the bottom battle when Kalmar FF visited Gamla Ullevi.

Initially, they threatened through Pontus Wernbloom as ball receiver and Christian Kouakou as deep runner.

Instead of getting holes in the opposition, however, Kalmar could take the lead - and it was a Gothenburg player who put them in the driver's seat.

Kouakou faced a defensive corner without being in a duel with anyone.

Still, he nodded the ball in his own goal to 0-1.

Kalmar expanded

The result stood out the half and twenty minutes into the second Isak Magnusson drove the ball forward from the offensive midfield.

A few seconds later, he entered the shooting sector and fired a well-aimed shot that meant 2-0 to Kalmar.

In extra time, Wernbloom put the reduction via a nod, but no closer than a reduction came "Blue and White".

Table runner-up Kalmar thus takes a heavy three-pointer, while "Blåvitt" remains in thirteenth place.
