Liverpool includes the Portuguese winger Jota

Liverpool, the English Premier League champions, announced that Portuguese winger Diogo Jota of Wolverhampton Wanderers has signed a long-term contract on Saturday.

British reports said it would cost Liverpool 41 million pounds ($ 52.95 million) to bring in an effortless Gota, who is expected to fit the style of coach Juergen Klopp's playing style in strong pressure.

"This is an exciting moment for me and my family. This is unbelievable, everything that has happened in my career since I was a child and now I'm joining a club like World Champion Liverpool. I'm excited to start my career," Jota told Liverpool's website.

The 23-year-old did not join the Wolverhampton squad during the League Cup defeat to Stoke City on Thursday and was only seated as a substitute during the 2-0 win over Sheffield United in the opening round of the Premier League.

He first joined Jota on loan from Atletico Madrid in 2017, scoring 16 goals and making six goals for Wolverhampton in three seasons.

Jota became the third player to join Liverpool this season after signing Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara and Greek left-back Costas Tsimikas.
