The first round of the women's golf domestic tour tournament was held in Aichi Prefecture, with Taiwanese Sai Payin taking the lead, and last season's prize money queen, Ai Suzuki, taking second place by one stroke.
Payin escaped the first round with seven birdies without bogies.
Suzuki went around with seven birdies and one bogey, including four in a row, and finished second with 6 unders alongside 20-year-old Ayaka Furue, Kokone Yoshimoto, and Saiki Fujita.
19-year-old Yuka Saso, who has already marked two wins this season, is in 10th place with 4 unders.
Saki Nagamine, who won the Japan Ladies Professional Golf Championship in the major tournament last week, is in 26th place with 2 unders.
