Return home for Merijn Zeeman, one of the sports directors of the Jumbo-Visma of Primoz Roglic, yellow jersey of the Tour de France.

He was guilty of “intimidation, insults, incorrect behavior” towards a member of the International Cycling Union (UCI) during the control of the bikes carried out at the end of the stage.

He was therefore excluded from the Tour de France by the jury of commissioners on Thursday in La Roche-sur-Foron, at the end of the 17th stage.

Van Aert penalized by ten seconds

The sports director of the Dutch training was also fined 2,000 Swiss francs (1,860 euros) for the same reason.

Among the other penalties of the day, the Belgian Wout van Aert, teammate of the yellow jersey Primoz Roglic, was penalized by 10 seconds in the standings for “back-pushing on the car”.
