With only a few days left until the grand slam tournament in Paris, the news now comes that only 5,000 spectators will be allowed on site at Roland Garros per day, the Paris police inform the news agency AFP.

It should be compared with the 11,500 spectators that the organizer said ten days ago would be allowed daily.

However, the current restrictions by the French government allow a maximum of 5,000 people at public gatherings.

Audience-free on almost all courses

According to the news agency Reuters, the French sports magazine L'Équipe writes that this means that there will only be an audience on the center court, Philippe-Chatrier.

On other courses, it will thus be audience-free.

The gravel tournament was supposed to have been decided at Roland Garros in Paris 18 May – 7 June, but was postponed due to the corona pandemic.
