The Professional Football League (LFP) has decided to open an investigation into the racist remarks allegedly made by Marseille defender Alvaro Gonzalez towards PSG striker Neymar, who received a suspension of two matches, more a suspended sentence, for having participated in a fight at the end of the match.

Regarding the accusations of racism, "the certainties are not sufficient to summon the players," said the chairman of the disciplinary committee, Sébastien Deneux, adding that the investigation would consist of a more in-depth analysis of the images of the exchanges between the Spanish and Brazilian.
The aim will be to establish "what was actually said, what was actually heard," continued the official, insisting that his committee only pronounced "on objective, tangible elements".
Asked whether this investigation would also concern homophobic remarks likely to have been made by Neymar, Sébastien Deneux replied: "Tonight, we were seized with possible racist remarks from Alvaro. We must speak with the greater caution. The investigation will reveal whether there are other facts likely to lead to disciplinary consequences. "

In addition, the Parisian Angel di Maria was summoned for the next meeting of the disciplinary committee, on September 23, for the spitting he would have sent in the direction of Alvaro, during this heated match which ended in the OM's first victory in nine years over their rival (1-0).
The meeting, electric, ended with the start of a general fight which ended with three exclusions on the Parisian side (Neymar, Paredes, Kurzawa) and two on the Marseille side (Benedetto, Amavi).
Among the players who took part in the fight, Parisian defender Layvin Kurzawa suffered the longest suspension with six matches, for his kick to Marseillais Jordan Amavi, who will be away from the field for three matches.
PSG midfielder Leandro Paredes and his Argentinian OM compatriot Dario Benedetto were respectively suspended for three matches, two of which were closed and one closed.
