FC Barcelona has not yet made an offer for Memphis Depay, Olympique Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas reported on Wednesday.

He thereby invalidates previous reports.

Aulas addresses in a tweet directly to

De Telegraaf

, who reported on Tuesday that there was an agreement between Lyon and Barcelona about a transfer from Memphis for 25 million euros plus bonuses.

"The president of Barça has told me that the club is suffering from the COVID-19 crisis and therefore has no opportunity to make a bid," writes Aulas.

According to Juninho, Lyon's technical director, Barcelona has not even made contact.

"We have not heard or received anything from Barcelona. They have not even called to inquire about Memphis' asking price," Juninho told French channel

The Brazilian former midfielder takes into account that Memphis will finish in Lyon this season.

"I understand that if he stays with us, he will be happy to help us have a good season."

Barcelona must first sell players

An agreement with Lyon is also denied from Barcelona.

On Tuesday, Ronald Koeman reported that there has not yet been an agreement on Memphis.

The Barcelona coach told

FOX Sports

that his club must first sell players before any acquisitions can be presented.

Since Koeman was appointed as the new coach on August 19, Barcelona has not brought in a single new player.

The club did let Ivan Rakitic leave for Seville and hopes to say goodbye to Luis Suárez (probably to Juventus) and Arturo Vidal (probably to Internazionale) in the short term.

Koeman is not counting on reinforcements for the first league game, on September 27 against Villarreal.

"We are now working towards the new season and I assume that we will do it with this group that we are in preparation with."

Koeman may have Lionel Messi this season.

The star player aimed for a departure, but later withdrawn that wish.

"That was mainly a conflict between Messi and the club," says Koeman.

"I've talked to Messi ever since and we'll just keep going."

Memphis Depay scored on Tuesday as a substitute for Lyon against Montpellier (2-1 defeat).
