Aaron Meijers leaves ADO Den Haag at least temporarily behind after eight seasons.

The supplier relocates to Sparta Rotterdam on a rental basis.

Defender Lassana Faye, also as a mercenary, makes the opposite switch.

Meijers, 32, was a permanent employee at ADO for years, which took him over from RKC Waalwijk in 2012.

The left back played 250 official matches for the Hagenaars.

This season, Meijers, who still has a contract for two seasons, would not appear in the plans of the new trainer Aleksandar Rankovic.

He is the seventh summer acquisition at Sparta.

"In any case for this season we choose a different type in the person of Lassana", says Martin Jol on behalf of the technical heart of ADO.

"In addition, this change is in line with the new course of the club, also with a view to the budget."

ADO, which is one of the most active Eredivisionists on the transfer market, has previously lost figureheads Tom Beugelsdijk and Lex Immers.

Beugelsdijk also went to Sparta and Immers signed with NAC Breda.

The 22-year-old Faye made his debut in the 2016/2017 season as a professional at Vitesse and made the switch to Sparta more than a year and a half ago.

The left back was a fixed value at Het Kasteel, but can therefore temporarily leave for ADO.
