According to Kyodo News, Japan’s 87-year-old Hiroshi Inada, who was recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the oldest person to complete the triathlon, has begun to attack the new record. He is preparing for next year's triathlon world championships.

According to distance classification, the longest "IRONMAN" is swimming 2.2 miles (about 3.9 kilometers), bicycle 112 miles (about 180 kilometers) and full marathon 42.195 kilometers.

The total is about 226 kilometers.

  According to reports, Inada Hiroshi is 87 years old and lives in Yachiyo City, Chiba Prefecture.

In October 2018, he completed the triathlon "IRONMAN World Championship" in Hawaii at the age of 85 years and 328 days.

Looking back at the race, Inada Hiroshi said that the race started in the early morning and arrived at the end in late night after about 17 hours.

Sometimes it is running alone in a completely dark environment with few pedestrians.

  It is reported that after retiring at the age of 60, Inada Hiroshi started swimming in order to maintain his strength. Initially, he "can only swim three or four meters", which also became an opportunity for him to get in touch with triathlon.

Inada Hiroshi thought that “wearing a helmet and sunglasses is cool”, so he bought a road bike at the age of 69, and took part in swimming 1.5 kilometers, cycling 40 kilometers and long-distance running at the age of 70 and finished the race.

  Inada Hiroshi first challenged the triathlon at the age of 76. He couldn't hold on and gave up the race when he was 21 kilometers away from the finish line.

At the age of 78, Inada Hiroshi finished his first race in Jeju Island, South Korea.

  Inada Hiroshi said: "If you don't do something every day, you will get old immediately." He is currently undergoing rigorous training, including swimming 3 kilometers in the morning and cycling 70 to 150 kilometers in the morning.

Inada Hiroshi said that he "will participate in the World Championships next year and finish the game", and his willingness to refresh his oldest record is unabated.

  Inada Hiroshi said, “Although the physical strength is not as good as before, but I consider various factors to try. This makes me very happy, because it is interesting and can’t stop.” (End)
