The Japan Sumo Association has announced that it will hold a meeting of the Yokotsuna Deliberation Committee the day after Chiakiraku, the place of sumo wrestling.

The meeting of the Yokotsuna Deliberation Committee will be the first in about eight months since it was held after the first place in January.

The Yokozuna Deliberation Committee is an organization that deliberates on matters related to yokozuna, such as recommendation of yokozuna and recommendation of retirement, and makes recommendations to the Japan Sumo Association. Regular meetings are usually held the day after Chiakiraku at this place.

However, since the regular meeting was held after the first place in January, the meeting has been canceled due to the influence of the new coronavirus.

On the 14th, the Japan Sumo Association's public relations manager, Shibatayama, told reporters that he had a meeting of other experts and that he had to gradually resume what he could do. Regarding the regular meeting of the meeting, he clarified his intention to hold it as scheduled.

It is scheduled to be held on the 28th of this month, the day after Chiaki Raku in the autumn place, and it has been about 8 months since the event was held after the first place in January.
