The Dubai International Marine Sports Club announced a "new initiative targeting modern application enthusiasts and those interested in electronic sports games", by launching a virtual race that simulates the competitions of modern sailing boats sailing around the world, under the name of "Dubai Versatile Regatta in the Shore Challenge".
The club said in a press statement that the initiative comes in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, and is in line with the plans of the Dubai Sports Council, the umbrella that sponsors sports activity in the emirate.
He emphasized that, behind the initiative, he seeks to increase the base of marine sports fans, and to provide opportunities for various sectors to participate in various activities, as well as in light of the tendency of a large segment of society to virtual sports, especially lovers of marine sports.
