The Swedish Motorsport Association's board went to the Indy car final last year for SEK 300,000, which was financed by the members' money.

Several local unions demanded that the board resign and the union's auditor does not want to give the board discharge.

The reason is alcohol notes and that the members had to pay for relatives of the board who accompanied the trip.

No discharge

After SVT Sports' revelations, chairman Lars Pettersson resigned and shortly afterwards, vice chairman Lars Nyman also announced that he would not stand for re-election.

The Swedish Motorsport Association has now held its annual meeting and the members followed the auditor's line after an open vote.

From the old board, which thus did not get discharge from liability, Per-Gunnar Andersson and Urban Wahlberg remain.

New board

In addition, a partially new board was elected.

In addition to Lars Pettersson and Daniel Nyman, Örjan Eriksson and Anna Elgtorp are leaving.

The new chairman will be Magnus Berthling.

- I am used to hard debates and tough times, but I have an appeal and that is that we all in discussions stick to issues and have a good tone to each other.

Then it will be better, says Magnus Berthling to the union's website.

He continues:

- I have experience from several board assignments where it was quarrelsome and tough, but where you then had a nice time during coffee because you just discussed issues and nothing else during the meeting.
