The Stockholm team SDE was last season's big surprise in the women's hockey league SDHL.

After five straight seasons at the bottom, the team took a sixth place in the regular season and went to the playoffs for the first time.

Lindsey Post was praised as the league's best goalkeeper and won the goalkeeper league with 94.16 save percentage.

Sofia Reideborn was fifth with 92.05.

No other team could show two such strong goalkeepers.

Both extended with SDE, but after Reideborn's acclaimed criticism, she herself made the decision to take a timeout and not play next season.

The outspoken goalkeeper went in SDHL's own podcast to harsh criticism against the many relationships in women's hockey in general and against SDE in particular.

"Homophobic"

Something that made his teammate, the American hill Jacquie Pierri, angry.

She called Reideborn's accusations homophobic and harmful.

Lindsey Post about Reideborn's proposal:

- It is clear that she should have her opinions, but it is important that it stays in the team.

You do not have to go out to the media all the time, she says.

Post says that she appreciated the cooperation between the two last season and how they pushed each other, but Reideborn's decision to leave was still good for the team.

- It was sad how it all ended, but it is the best for the team.

I know she's working as a coach now and I think it will be good for her to have some time besides hockey.

More pressure

TT: Was it impossible for her to continue in SDE?

- No, if she had come back we would have only had to sort it out individually and in the team.

We could have solved that.

When Reideborn dropped out, 19-year-old talent Linn Jansson Almgren was brought in as a replacement.

She has only played three SDHL matches for Linköping before, so the responsibility at Post will increase this season.

- She is a young goalkeeper with a good attitude, but I have higher expectations of myself this season so now there will be more pressure, says Post.

SDE has high goals for the season.

- We want to improve last season's results and with a new coach (Canadian Dominique Di Rocco) we will have a better structure in our game, says Post.
