The organizers of the French Open have been given the go-ahead to admit up to 11,500 spectators per day, a decision that surprises the Greek Maria Sakkari, who lost a tough three-seater against Serena Williams in the US Open yesterday.

- I do not understand it, she says.

I'm not a doctor, but for me it was a shocking decision. 

World setter Asheleigh Barty, who won the French Open last year, has just announced that she will not be coming to Paris, partly due to concerns about the virus.

And even Serena Williams has expressed some hesitation to go there.

French Open begins on September 27.
