Find out when the Italian fans will be back in action

The Italian Football League will resume without the crowd attending, as the government in Rome stated that fans should not return to the stands for at least another month.

The latest decree by Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte regarding precautionary measures against the Coronavirus was issued yesterday evening, and it will enter into force from today until October 7.

Previously existing rules stipulating that fans can attend "small sporting events" have been changed, with a maximum of 1,000 fans attending open sporting events and 200 fans for indoor events.

And this rule was used yesterday, Sunday, by Parma, who allowed the presence of a thousand fans for a friendly match against Empoli, the second-division club.

Those who attended the match had to wear a muzzle throughout the match.

Today, some politicians, including the leader of the far-right opposition Matteo Salvini, and the mayor of Naples, Luigi de Majestres, urged the government to soften its stance on football stadiums.

The Italian League for the 2020/2021 season begins on January 19.
