This came during the extraordinary general assembly of the committee, which was held using visual communication technology, yesterday, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the National Olympic Committee, and in the presence of the First Deputy Chairman of the Olympic Committee, Chairman of the Executive Office Hamid Al Qatami, and the Secretary General of the Committee Mohammed bin Salim, as well as representatives of the sports federations who attended the meeting from their sites.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum praised, during the meeting, the keenness of all sports federations to devise new mechanisms that serve the interest of athletes, whether in terms of training, technical or physical, to keep abreast of the successive developments of the entire sports movement, with the commitment to apply precautionary measures that ensure the safety of our children And our girls are in various sports.
His Highness the President of the National Olympic Committee directed the necessity of finalizing the necessary concepts to implement the initiatives and ideas to create an ideal environment for athletes to achieve the best results, with a focus on spreading the culture of sports practice and the Olympic movement in general among members of society, reflecting the principles of tolerance, affection, peace and brotherhood inherent in the country. The General Assembly of the National Olympic Committee also agreed to postpone the elections for the president and members of the board of directors of the committee, and to extend the term of the current council until after the completion of the Olympic Games in Tokyo next year.
The General Assembly also decided to authorize His Highness the President of the National Olympic Committee to amend the Olympic Charter and adopt it after the completion of its amendment.
