  • Ansu Fati, thunderous appearance with Spain

Ansu Fati

.

That is the man.

That's the (almost) child.

This is the teenager who on Sunday became the youngest scorer for the Spanish team in its 100 years of existence.

His name has rescued, from the depths of time, that of

Juan Errazquin

, dethroned in scoring precocity by the Barcelona player.

Juan Errazquin Tomás has an intense and brief football history and life.

He was born, like Ansu Fati, outside of Spain.

In Leones, a small Argentine town located in the province of Córdoba.

Son of Guipuzcoans, he came to Spain with them, who were returning home.

In Irún he began to play soccer.

At the age of 15 he was a reserve in the Real Unión.

A kind of 'intern' who got to participate in some friendly.

At 17 he was already part of the first team of the best Real Unión de Irún, which in those years brought together or would bring together figures such as

Emery

(grandfather of the current Villarreal coach),

Gamborena, René Petit

, the

Regueiro

brothers

(Luis and Pedro) , Eguiazábal and Arabolaza

, the author, on August 28, 1920, of the first goal of the Spanish team.

The same Royal Union that scored (1-0) against Real Madrid in the 1924 Cup and that, in the semifinal, had crushed Barcelona 6-1 with two of the goals from Juanito Errazquin (it was always Juanito for the press and fans).

That 1924 and 1925 were crucial for the career of the young and aggressive center forward, often hailed as one of the representatives of the "Spanish fury" born four years earlier at the Antwerp Olympic Games.

In the European tour that Boca Juniors made in 1925, the Real Unión beat them, on April 2, 4-0.

Four "goals", according to the spelling of "Juanito" at the time, which had a huge echo in Argentina, whose nationality, double that of the Spanish, always maintained and which led him directly to our team.

Its premiere, on June 1, in Bern, against Switzerland was resounding.

Spain won 0-3, with a "hat trick", one would say now, from Errazquin, who was 18 years and 344 days old.

That record, that of a debutante wheat player, remains unscathed.

"Juanito" was a talisman for the National Team.

He played six games and Spain did not lose any.

He won five and tied one.

And Errazquin scored six goals: all three for Switzerland, one for Italy and two for Hungary.

His last game was in Gijón, on April 22, 1928.

That season, 1928-29, the first in the League, he no longer saw Errazquin in the Real Unión dressing room.

Affected by tuberculosis, he abandoned football.

He died, at the age of 24, on January 13, 1931. A tragic capicúa: 1-13-31.

On January 15, Irún took to the streets to fire him.

Emery,

Alza

, Luis Regueiro,

Mancisidor and Sagarzazu

carried the coffin

.

The tapes were wielded by

Gamborena, Pedro Regueiro, Villaverde and Hernandorea

.

Ansu Fati has "resurrected" him for the history of our football, which has paid tribute to him in this way.
