The Futsal Executive Committee has officially decided to complete the 2019-2020 season tournament, which was suspended in mid-March due to the Coronavirus pandemic, by establishing the "Playoff" role as of January 15th without public attendance.

This is the only competition under the umbrella of the Football Association that has been resumed this season, after it was decided to cancel all other competitions for men and age groups, most notably the Arab Gulf League and the President's Cup.

The Futsal Committee also issued the schedule for the new season 2020-2021 tournaments, as the Federation Cup will start on January 28 with two matches in which Khor Fakkan and Al Dhafra and Ittihad Kalba will meet with Dibba Al-Hisn, the Emirates Cup will start on November 4, and the General League on November 21.

The Secretary-General of the Committee, Imran Abdullah, expressed his happiness that the futsal activity was the first football activity to be officially resumed in the country since the suspension of sports activities, expressing his optimism that a good start for Emirati sports would bear success in challenging the Corona virus.

Imran said to "Emirates Today": "We realize that our responsibility is great because we will be at the forefront, and we are up to this responsibility, and we feel great optimism for success, so we conducted an inspection tour that included all the clubs that participate in the futsal competition, and everything related to the precautionary measures was clarified." He explained all that is required of the clubs to do in preparation for the completion of the current season and the start of the next season of establishing the usual checks and the comprehensive application of precautionary measures ».

He added, “No person will be allowed to be in the venue of the matches without revealing a negative result for the (Corona) examination.” Imran Abdullah directed to the Futsal family, asking them to provide the highest levels of professionalism, because the upcoming competitions will be at the forefront, and in preparation for the start of the rest of the competitions, Therefore it is necessary to act according to full precautionary measures.

With regard to the presence of a television broadcast of the matches, he said: “We hope that there will be the best media coverage available that enhances our optimism for a strong and distinctive return to sports competitions.

We hope to be up to our expectations and we thank the Emirates Football Association, Sharjah Sports Council and clubs for the cooperation that reflects the desire for success in line with preserving public health and safety.

Tournament schedule

The committee issued a schedule for the "Play Off" tournament, which will resume on the 15th of this month at 5:45 pm with the holding of two matches between Khor Fakkan and Dibba Al-Hisn and Shabab Al-Ahly with Al-Nasr.

On the 17th of this month at 5.45 minutes, Dibba Al-Hisn will play with Shabab Al-Ahly, and Al-Nasr will play with Khorfakkan.

It is noteworthy that the clubs participating in "Play Off" played one round on March 14, after which the sporting activity stopped. Dibba Al-Hisn won 6-1 against Al-Nasr, and Khor Fakkan defeated Shabab Al Ahly 4-2.

The first general arrangement (Al-Bataih) rises with the first "Play Off" arrangement for the final confrontation of three matches that will be held on the same time (5.45 pm) on the 20, 22nd and 24th of the current time (5.45 pm), to determine the league champion through the winning team in two out of three matches.
