'I am not here for the BV Tom Dumoulin'

Tom Dumoulin reacts just before the start to the criticism he received yesterday after he went hard on the Peyresourde for leader Primoz Roglic and thus mainly lost his own chances of a good classification .

"I was just hanging on to the bottom of the Peyresourde and then I thought: I want to show that I am here with the same goal as the whole team and that is not driving for the BV Tom Dumoulin, but for the goal of to win the Tour with the team. I wanted to show everyone: I am here, unfortunately I am not good enough myself, but I will give everything for the team and for the team goal. "

André Greipel makes an urgent appeal to the fans to keep their distance and to wear a mouth mask.

Yesterday during the climb of the Col de Peyresourde it was old-fashioned busy and not everyone adhered to the guidelines.

As participants of the @LeTour everybody involved in that event, during the actual circumstances with # Covid_19, have and had to make big sacrifices.

It is simple to keep this event going- respect the rules-keep the distance to us riders and wear masks, PLEASE.

The cycling teams worried about the many spectators on the Col de Peyresourde yesterday, not everyone of whom wore a face mask.

On the rest day tomorrow, riders and staff will be tested for COVID-19.

If two people test positive on a team within seven days, the entire team must go home.

Reason enough for Movistar to make an urgent appeal to the fans.

As most of you, we're concerned by the current situation in the world.

It's taken so much effort to restart the season - and we all don't want it to end.

Please wear a mask, use it correctly, and keep some distance.

Do it for us and the rest of the field.

Zeeman: 'Dumoulin action contrary to our plan'

Tom Dumoulin lost his good position in the general classification yesterday by taking the lead on the Col de Peyresourde ahead of leader Primoz Roglic.

Well-intentioned, but not the intention, says sports director Merijn Zeeman.

"He did that instinctively," Zeeman told the

"That was not necessary and was not part of our plan. We discussed it afterwards."

The favorites group was completely blown up by Dumoulin's action.

"All the leaders were alone after that. It was well intentioned by Tom, but we really didn't want that."
