It was last Friday that Wendy Holdener fell during a slalom training in Saas-Fee, Switzerland.

The 27-year-old was examined at a clinic in Zurich and it turned out that she suffered a fracture in her right calf.

Now the world cup premiere in Sölden on October 17 is in danger.

"Even if an operation is not necessary, the time required for healing can jeopardize Wendy Holdener's participation in the World Cup premiere in Sölden," says Walter O. Frey, chief physician at the Swiss Ski Association in a press release.

Holdener won Olympic gold in parallel slalom in Peyongchang 2018 and also has two World Cup golds in combination on the merit list.

Last season, she stood on the podium six times in the World Cup.
