Chelsea have seized the services of 21-year-old German midfielder Kai Havertz after paying Bayer Leverkusen € 80 million for his move, which culminated in a five-year contract with the London team.
The international player with Germany, whose signing was announced with a video on the English club's social networks, highlighted last season with Bayer, a team that has seen him shine in recent years.
In his journey with the Leverkusen team he scored 36 goals and gave 25 assists in 118 games.
It is the second most expensive signing in Chelsea's history after
Kepa Arrizabalaga
, who signed with the 'blues' from Athletic Bilbao (80.2 million euros) in 2018, according to the BBC.
"I am very happy and proud to be here. It is a dream come true to play for a great club like Chelsea," Havertz said.
