Wolverhampton Racecourse in the United Kingdom will host, this afternoon, the first round of the Al Wathba Stallions Cup series, as part of the activities of the twelfth edition of the Mansour Bin Zayed International Festival for Purebred Arabian Horses.

The Al Wathba Stallions Cup races are held, in line with the festival’s strategy, and in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, with the aim of supporting owners and breeders in most countries of the world, and motivating them to increase interest in the Arabian horse.

The Arab Racing Organization (ARO) welcomes a full group of 12 horses to its first domestic race this season, and the 1,400-meter race will be the inaugural on the card at Wolverhampton.

James Owen, the current champion coaches, pays five horses, three of which are owned by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, led by "NASA", who is participating for the first time.

As in previous seasons of the Cup, the series is an integral part of the UK Arabian racing calendar and is a popular addition to the program worldwide, with all five races taking place from September to November.
