Donny van de Beek has represented Ajax throughout his career, but is now taking the step to the Premier League and Norwegian Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Manchester United.

He has signed a five-year contract and according to the BBC, this is a transfer fee of 35 million pounds (just over 400 million kronor).

- I am ready to take the next step in my career and perform at the highest level.

There is no higher level than Manchester United, says van de Beek.

Solskjaer is happy with the summer window's first signing.

- Donny has all the technical qualities needed to perform in this team and he has the personality needed to succeed at Manchester United, he says.

Van de Beek's new team will make its Premier League debut against Crystal Palace on 19 September.

The Dutchman becomes teammate with Victor Nilsson Lindelöd.
