Fourteen clubs participate in the “Dubai World” community session on 11th of this month

The Dubai Sports Council announced the launch of the “Dubai Community Clubs Sports Tournament” that will be held at the Dubai Sports World stadiums in Zabeel Halls 4, 5 and 6 at the Dubai World Trade Center, from the fourth to the 11th of this month.

Fourteen clubs from the different community clubs and communities in Dubai are participating in the session: the Indian club, the Pakistani club, the Jordanian social club, the Sudanese Social Club, the Egyptian Social Club, the Filipino Social Club, the Lebanese community, the Syrian community, the Nepalese community, the Sri Lankan community, and the American community. The Indonesian community, the Yemeni community and the Chinese community.

The Dubai Sports Council said in a statement yesterday: “Participants from these clubs compete in four different sports: badminton, basketball, football and cricket, and form men's teams and women's teams, and the session aims to activate the partnership between the Dubai Sports Council and community clubs in the emirate of Dubai. By organizing joint sporting events that bring together the members of these clubs and consolidate the relationship between them by creating an atmosphere of familiarity and acquaintance among all the participants.

For his part, Director of the Sports Events Department of the Dubai Sports Council, Khaled Al Awar, said: “The Dubai Sports Council is keen to promote diversity in organizing sporting events in order to provide an opportunity for sports fans of all nationalities living in Dubai, which are more than 200 nationalities, to participate and follow the various sports tournaments. This session also fulfills the Council’s vision of building a distinguished and happy sport community by providing the opportunity for the participation of various segments of society in it, as the Council works according to a strategic plan that is in line with the plan of the Dubai government and is keen to support the organization of sporting events that contribute to spreading the culture of sports and physical activity between All segments of society, and make it a way of life ».

Al Awar added: “This session contributes to strengthening cooperation with community clubs in Dubai, in our belief in the importance of integrating roles between the various governmental and non-governmental sectors to serve the community in sports, and we also always strive to give all communities residing in Dubai the opportunity to practice their sport to prefer and entertain themselves.”

Maher Julfar, Executive Vice President of Hall Services Department at the Dubai World Trade Center, said: “Our long-standing partnership with the Dubai Sports Council over the past decade has enabled us to pave the way towards developing world-class sporting talent through the Dubai Sports World that is held annually.”

He added, "We look forward to hosting the session on the Dubai Sports World stadiums, which is a true testimony to our collective vision of enhancing the well-being, strength and physical activity of all citizens and residents of all segments of society."
