Swedish hockey is after a long summer on its way to the start of the season.

The last few days have, however, meant real setbacks in the preparations for BIK Karlskoga and Västerås IK who played a training match on Friday.

13 people in and around the A-team have been affected by covid-19 in Karlskoga and the all-Swedish team has now closed down operations.

Opponents in Västerås have also taken precautionary measures and followed Karlskoga's example of covid symptoms in the squad.

"Feels great measure of humility"

The SHL starts the season in just over three weeks and the hockey Allsvenskan shortly thereafter.

But despite fast-approaching series premieres, there is still no record of postponed or canceled matches.

- Work is underway to develop and anchor this in the leagues, says the ice hockey association's chairman Anders Larsson, who hopes to be able to get regulations until next week.

According to Anders Larsson, there is now an executive committee, where he himself is involved, which will handle decisions about canceled or postponed matches.

But exactly on what premises the decisions are to be made is not determined.

Larsson realizes that it will be a trying season for Swedish hockey after the recent corona fall.

- When you take part in this, you realize what a challenging autumn we are facing in Swedish ice hockey.

I feel a great deal of humility but also a determination that we should move forward in a wise way, says Anders Larsson.
