- He has said no. It felt good that he did it and that he felt that he might have ruined a bit for Jakob at the Swedish Championships and therefore made that decision. Full respect for him making that decision, says national team captain Karin Torneklint to Aftonbladet.

After the Swedish Championship competition two weeks ago, Härstedt was entered by the competition's four Jakob Gardenkrans. Gardenkrans says that in addition to a protest against the winner Daniel Ståhl competing with a tear in his tights, he also tried to psyche his opponents.

"He behaved badly"

- He behaved badly and filed protests. He tried to psych me, Daniel (Ståhl) and Simon (Pettersson). He wanted us not to throw far and it is very sad, Gardenkrans told SVT Sport.

Härstedt explained in a text message:

"I think it's incredibly boring. Jakob and I have been friends for a long time and have been able to talk about everything. It was the first and probably last time I protested at a competition and have not been registered for anything before ", Härstedt wrote to SVT Sport.

It was Härstedt himself who took the initiative to abstain

The initiative to give up Finnkampen came from Härstedt.

"I threw further at the four competitions we met this year but do not want Jakob to feel that I in any way prevented him from making his senior national team debut. I have already been involved in running laps of honor after five of our now seven triple victories and I think that Jakob can also throw better than the Finns so I wrote to the national team captain to give him the place ", writes Härstedt in a text message.

He now wants to move on and put this behind him.

"Jakob should of course have said something to me during the competition or asked for a reversal when he disturbed me and that I saw two of his throws instead of writing in affection on Instagram, but as I understand it, he then did not report to the association so I hope we can both let go of this. ”

The Finnkampen will be decided next weekend in Tampere.
