WADA reacted to the dismissal of Ganus from the post of head of RUSADA

A statement on the WADA website confirms that the decision to fire Ganus was made by RUSADA's founders - the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) and the Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC).

“These developments reinforce the concerns expressed by WADA in its August 5 statement regarding how the founders made a decision regarding Ganus on the recommendation of RUSADA's supervisory board; emphasize the critical importance of maintaining independence for RUSADA, ”WADA said in a statement.

The Supervisory Board of RUSADA passed a vote of no confidence in the head of the organization, Yuri Ganus, who headed the agency since August 2017, after the violations of the financial and economic activities of the organization were revealed based on the results of the audit. 

Earlier, State Duma Deputy Igor Lebedev spoke about the dismissal of the general director of RUSADA.
