After announcing leukemia, Ikee was discharged from hospital in December last year after spending about 10 months in hospital and resumed training.

From March this year, we will practice in the pool and prepare for the return to the competition.On the 29th, we will participate in the women's 50 meters freestyle at the "Tokyo special swimming competition" held at Tokyo Tatsumi International Swimming Center. It's a schedule.

Ikee will participate in the race for the first time in about one year and seven months since last January, just before the announcement of leukemia.

Ikee commented in front of the race, "I've been waiting for this race, so I want to enjoy it while valuing the feeling of competing as a competitor. I'm worried every day, so people who are fighting against illness and always support me. I want everyone to feel positive about my race."
