Janne Andersson about Lind: "Very withdrawn"

The national team captain believes that the Swedish Public Health Agency and politicians could have familiarized themselves better and had a greater understanding of the role and significance of sport in society during the crisis.

- There is a very big difference between different sports and I have experienced that you have not been sufficiently involved in, says Janne Andersson and continues:

- I love the sport and the societal benefits we do. At the beginning of the crisis, football was called a summer activity in some context. We went to the roof of course, we who play football. I can not assess infection control and such issues, but the reasoning about sports shows that they have not been sufficiently familiar or involved in the role of sports.

Andersson is, among other things, critical of Minister of Culture and Sports Amanda Lind (MP), who he believes has long been invisible after the outbreak of the pandemic.

The latest proposal from the Swedish Public Health Agency is that there should not be more than a total of 500 people on site at sporting events, regardless of the size of the arena.

Incredible, according to Janne Andersson.

- That you could not be more than 500 people at Friends arena where we play home matches, it is incomprehensible to me. It is clear that it can not be the same conditions if you play at Skytteholm or at Friends and just the lack of understanding of the different parts of football, I think it is sad that you do not value in a different way.

Next week, September 5, Sweden will host France in the Nations League, and three days later Portugal will wait. Both matches are played at Friends arena without an audience.
