The UAE Football Association will hold the draw for the President's Cup and First Division League for the 2020-2021 sports season, next Tuesday, at 7 pm at the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi. Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, President of the UAE Football Association, appreciated the great support provided by the wise leadership to the sports sector, stressing that this support paved the way for athletes, teams and teams to achieve many achievements, and contributed to making the UAE a global center for sport.
Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi thanked His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his sponsorship of the draw ceremony, his sound guidance and continuous support for the football family, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs for his tireless efforts to improve sports performance, referring to The Football Association is striving to develop work and its mechanisms and to achieve the progress that the Emirati football fans aspire to.
Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi indicated that the Football Association pays great attention to all its competitions, but also focuses on the most expensive tournament, the President's Cup, which is one of the most important football tournaments in the country, because this competition is a vital part of the UAE's sports history. He added that choosing the Abu Dhabi Health Department to hold the lottery ceremony came in appreciation of its great role and great efforts in combating the Corona pandemic, and appreciation for the first line of defense in all relevant institutions, and also thanked the competent authorities in the country for their continuous cooperation, guidance and directives, wishing all teams success in competitions New season.
For his part, Sheikh Abdullah bin Muhammad Al Hamid, Head of the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi, expressed his happiness at hosting the department’s headquarters for the draw ceremony for the competitions organized by the Football Association, especially the Cup, the most expensive tournament that sports fans expect in each season because of its great importance to the participating clubs. It always strives to compete for its title as well as being an important national sporting event.
It is worth noting that the Football Association has completed all preparations for the cup and first-class draw ceremonies, which will witness the attendance of a limited number of officials of the Federation, the Competitions Committee and representatives of the Abu Dhabi Health Department. The draw ceremony will be broadcast through Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah Sports channels, as well as through the "remote" visual communication system with Club representatives in implementation of the precautionary and preventive measures followed in order to preserve public safety. The ceremony will witness the drawing of the first-division draw, followed by the draw for the preliminary qualifiers for the President's Cup for First Division clubs, and the draw for the round of sixteen matches in the same tournament.
