After a couple of swear words, Karlsson came on the right course but was at the first intermediate time after 2.1 km a full 19 seconds after the lead time.

- It was a bit of a Heidi Weng ride, says SVT expert Anders Blomquist and thinks of the witty Norwegian who often put himself in trouble during the races.

Karlsson lost an estimated 12-13 seconds on the incident.
