• Messi Announces by burofax that he wants to leave

Jordi Farré, a pre-candidate for the Barcelona elections in 2015 and who has already run for the next elections, requested this Wednesday at the club's offices a motion of censure against Josep Maria Bartomeu and his entire board of directors.

Farré, who in the last elections obtained 2,033 of the 2,534 signatures to be a candidate, reported his action in a tweet in which he said that "Bartomeu and his board of directors cannot be one more minute at the helm of the club. It's time of the facts and not of the words ".

The action of the candidate comes after confirming the decision of the star of the team, Leo Messi, to leave the club this summer.

Precisely this Monday night the association 'Manifest Blaugrana', chaired by Marc Duch , announced its intention to put a vote of no confidence if on Friday Bartomeu and his board of directors had not redirected "the situation of Messi" and had resigned "in a manner immediate to give way to a Management Commission that calls elections as soon as possible ".

In addition, there is another platform in the Barça environment, 'Més que una moció' ('More than a motion'), which was presented publicly on July 29 and created a web page (mocio2020.cat) to collect support 'on-line' to also present a motion of censure. However, so far this platform has not gone to look for the ballots to start it officially.

Farré will need to gather at least the signatures of 15% of the club's electoral roll (in 2013 the Assembly of Compromisarios approved that the percentage be increased from 5 to 15%), some 16,000, for the motion of censure to succeed. Something very difficult to achieve without matches at the Camp Nou in between.

According to the club's statutes, the candidate will have fourteen business days from the day after the ballots are collected. Since 2018, when the Assembly of Committees approved it, Saturdays count as business days.

In the event that Farré exceeds that required 15%, the club should hold a referendum that would only entail the removal of the current board of directors if at least 66.6% of the voters so wanted.
