Guldskölden is an award from Swedish Fans where their readers nominate sports journalists in nine different categories and then go five per category to the final.
SVT Sports Johan Kücükaslan can become this year's sports reporter in competition with Expressen Noa Bachner and Daniel Kristoffersson, Aftonbladet's Erik Niva and C More's Frida Nordstrand.
He can also win for his series National Team Star where Kücükaslan has done longer reports with, among others, John Guidetti and Alexander Isak.
- I am especially proud to be nominated for the National Team Star, which we struggled hard to get together. It is tough competition in both categories and I do not expect to win, but as the competition person I am, it would of course be super fun, says Kücükaslan.
- We are very proud that Johan is nominated for the National Team Star, especially fun because it is sports lovers who voted for their favorites. The whole category is very strong and I am glad that so much good sports journalism is done in Sweden. This also encourages us to become even better in our football journalism where we are already a bit on the way with the broadcasts of the damallsvenskan and our magazine Fotbollsstudion, says SVT Sports' news director Johanna Bäckström Lerneby.
In the category "sports job of the year" he competes against Noa Bachner and Frida Sundkvist's review of Björn Eriksson and the condition ladder (Expressen), Linda Hedenljung's review of Östersunds FK (Östersunds-Posten), Erik Niva's reportage series "Under the shirt" (Aftonbladet) and "Annorlunda allsvenskan ”By Joel Segerdahl (DPlay).
