An upcoming European decision sets a ceiling for players ’salaries
UEFA President Alexander Severin revealed that he believes that football may soon see the implementation of some mechanisms to set a salary cap, although there are points that still need clarification.
"There are some interesting ideas, but we need some time to discuss their feasibility and analyze it, before we announce more details," Severin said in statements to the German magazine "Sport Bild", which was published in its issue today. Effective, therefore all solutions must be effective.
Two experts delegated from the German Parliament believe that setting a salary ceiling is something that can be applied, but on condition that it be implemented by (UEFA). In light of the desire for more financial equality in European football, Severin said the idea of imposing a "luxury tax" on clubs that do not adhere to the rules "looks interesting".
