The corona pandemic has hit runners-Sweden hard. But now two long-distance giants are approaching. It is about the Swedish Championships in marathons and the Lidingö race, both of which will be held in September, the organizers write in a press release.

- Pleasing and a good initiative. There has been a shortage of races during the corona period, says the Swedish record holder in the marathon, Mustafa Mohamed, in a press release.

On 5 September, the Swedish Championships in marathons will be decided on a lap track at Djurgården in Stockholm, and on 26 September, it's time for the Lidingö race. There it will be a slightly adjusted format with 15 kilometers instead of the classic 30.

In both cases, it is an invitational competition with a maximum of 40 runners and different starts for men and women.

The races are carried out without an audience and instead the competitions will be broadcast free of charge on the internet.
