Spanish goalkeeper Sergio Rico, Keylor Navas' understudy, confirmed his departure from PSG on Monday on social networks, the day after the Champions League final lost against Bayern Munich (1-0).

“It has been an honor to share the goals and my dreams with my friend Keylor Navas in this competition, as well as with my other teammates, the technical staff and our wonderful supporters,” wrote the 26-year-old goalkeeper.

On 1 September last year, I arrived at @psg and I would never have imagined meeting a family like this. A family of teammates, of friends who have fought to the end to write the history of this club. Finally it couldn't be, we couldn't go back to Paris with the Champions Cup but I'm sure this group will fight hard to reach another final soon. . It's been an honor to share goals and dreams with my friend @ keylornavas1 in this competition, as well as with the rest of all my teammates, technical staff and our wonderful supporters. This club deserves it and it will come! ❤️💙 #icicestparis #Pure

“On September 1, 2019, I arrived at PSG and I never imagined meeting a family like this. A family of teammates, friends who fought to the end to write the history of the club. Unfortunately, we are not coming back to Paris with the trophy, but I'm sure this group will fight again to reach the final again soon, ”he continued, in a message posted on Twitter and Instagram.

The future of the goalkeeper, loaned last year for a season with an option to purchase by Sevilla FC, is not a surprise: the Andalusian has played little in the capital (10 games), without convincing completely on his qualities as a substitute. However, he played a role in Final 8, holding the semi-final won against RB Leipzig (3-0) following the Costa Rican injury. For next season, the club could recruit a new goalkeeper, or offer a promotion to goalkeeper number 3, the young Polish Marcin Bulka (20 years).
