In Lisbon, Bayern Munich dreams of a sixth crown, and Paris Saint-Germain hope to finally lift the trophy. The Parisians who are celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of their first official match want to offer French football its second crown in the queen event of European football, 27 years after Marseille. Since the lost Monaco final in 2004, football France has been waiting for sixteen years to vibrate for one of its representatives in the most prestigious European Club Cup.

Kylian Mbappé lacking success

Before reaching this stage of the competition, PSG gained momentum during their stay in Lisbon, despite injuries and the lack of competition due to the anticipated end of their Championship in March. Is the duo formed by Kylian Mbappé and Neymar on time for the big European meeting? In great shape this summer, the Brazilian superstar has the opportunity to justify the 222 million euros paid when he was recruited to FC Barcelona in 2017.

It's a very special format, which we will remember with the context of the tragedy (of the Covid-19, Editor's note). We know that this edition is very important. It will remain in history  ”, assured Kylian Mbappé, who measures to what extent the opportunity to enter the legend of French sport is unique. During the first period, Mbappé found himself three times against the goals of Manuel Neuer (14th, 15th, 45th) while Neymar had an opportunity by shooting from the left (20th). But the Brazilian finally goes through the match without being able to be decisive.

Kingsley Coman the evening hero

Bayern is preferred by bookmakers because the crazy statistics of Munich - more than four goals per game in C1 this season - make them a winning machine. Robert Lewandowski, the competition's top scorer with 15 goals, misses the Bavarians' first big opportunity with a ball that hits the right post of Keylor Navas (22nd). Robert Lewandowski has another opportunity on a whim but Navas remains on his guard (31st). The Pole will not be decisive in this final.

Ironically, it is a player trained in PSG, Kingsley Coman, who opens the scoring in the 59th minute with a pricked head that deceives Navas. While Bayern has just scored its 500th goal in the Champions League, in the box, right side, Marquinhos, eccentric strikes without control with the right foot, but Manuel Neuer saves with the tip of the right foot (70th).

At a choppy end of the game, Paris Saint-Germain did not find the solution to return to the score. Bayern, less prolific tonight, offers their sixth big-eared Cup and Paris will have to wait a while before lifting the European Grail despite an opportunity for Cameroonian Eric Choupo-Moting in stoppage time.
