Another is that (in the 1980s) the state sent the Shaanxi scientific expedition team to the tombs of the Tibetan kings in Qiongjie County, Shannan. In the tombs, black and white chess pieces used by ancient Tibetans were found. After the detection of the means (discovery), there is a history of approximately 3,300 years.

  Shang Tao, chairman of the Tibetan Chess Association of the Tibet Autonomous Region, introduced that Tibetan chess can cover a wide range of people of different ages, genders, and races. The association will continue to lay a solid foundation for Tibetan chess and gradually transform the Tibetan chess movement into competitive sports. The Tibetan chess team strives to participate in the games as an official team. To this end, the association will further strengthen the optimization, sorting and research of Tibetan chess.
