Dallas started strongest and took the lead in the fifth quarterfinal against Calgary via Jamie Benn. Mikael Backlund equalized in the last minute of the first period when he with a quick shot found a small area under Anton Chudobin's picking glove.

After a goalless midfield, Dallas took the lead again early in the third. Mattias Janmark fought for the puck at the edge, looking in front of goal, but chose to instead of throwing the puck towards goal himself fit behind John Klingberg, who got a few extra tenths to place the puck to the right of Cam Talbot in the Calgary goal.

- Janmark did a fantastic job, says Klingberg.

Calgary pressed

The goal came via a quick wrist shot.

- It feels like you do not have time to wait long enough for a shot. I have trained hard in recent years, ever since I was young, to get through wrist shots even though there are a lot of people in front of goal. I think it is something that is needed nowadays, says Klingberg.

The Swede played one of the main roles also in Monday's match when his late equalizer forced extra time where Dallas finally won, after a shot from Klingberg that was controlled by teammate Alexander Radulov.

2-1 turned out to be the match last night. Calgary pressed for a draw and offered dramatic end minutes, where the team with the goalkeeper selected had to end the match with a 6-4 advantage. But Dallas managed to hold tight, and thus takes the lead in the match series with 3-2 in the best of seven matches. The teams will meet next time on Thursday or the night before Friday.

Philadelphia expands lead

Philadelphia took another victory against Montreal in the playoffs and is now just a victory from the quarterfinals. Michael Raffl put the first goal right up in the cross early in the first period and Philippe Myers extended in the second to 2-0, which was also the end result.

- What a shot by Raffl, he has trained on it in training a few times. It was nice to get the early goal, says Philadelphia goalkeeper Carter Hart in Viaplay.

Montreal had a hard time creating any sharp positions against the stable defense on the other side and Philadelphia now leads the quarterfinals series with 3-1 in matches. The next meeting between the teams is Friday or the night before Saturday.
