The "generality" of the basket adopts the statute and determines the elections with a closed list system
The Extraordinary General Assembly of the Basketball Federation, which was held today in Dubai, approved the Federation’s statute, which is the main pillar of the new election cycle 2020-2024, and it was decided to rely on the elections to be held with a closed list system.
This came in the "extraordinary general assembly" meeting, which was held in the presence of the clubs' full quorum of 17 clubs, with the eligibility to vote for only 15, in the presence of the President of the Arab and Emirati Federations, Major General Ismail Al Gergawi, members of the federation, representatives of the General Authority for Sports and clubs.
During the assembly, the (96) articles that make up the basic system were presented, along with the (40) articles that make up the election list, and discussed with club representatives, before many of them were presented to vote in light of objections from the clubs, most notably the reliance on the closed electoral list. In the electoral process instead of the individual candidacy, which won the approval of eight clubs, against the opposition of seven.
